BlackSeaRama Golf & Villas
For a luxury stay on Bulgaria’s Black Sea Coast, consider visiting the BlackSeaRama resort and spa. This 5-star resort consists of villas and studio accommodation, set out in a residential community style. Although many of these villas are rented out to holidaymakers, some are also owned by frequent visitors. For those who are visiting the complex, it is possible to find all of the luxuries that you would expect to find at a 5-star resort. There are pools, sports facilities and shops on site, as well as regular shuttles to the nearby beaches so that you and your travel companions will be able to see the area without difficulties.
Onsite you will also find a variety of different restaurants and cafes, serving a range of different cuisines, from local Balkan fayre to delicious Argentinean steaks, to sandwiches and snacks. For those who want to enjoy food in the comfort of their own villa, room service menus are also available. Those who are staying in villas will also find that their accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen so that they can rustle something up whenever they want. If you fancy a drink after your day’s endeavours, you can visit the onsite beer bar or wine cellar. Wine tastings regularly happen in the cave style cellar bar, and guests are able to take the opportunity to enjoy wines from local vineyards.
The complex is attached to one of three local golf courses, and has great access to the other two. The BlackSeaRama course which is sat next to the resort was the first championship signature course in the country. It was designed by Gary Player, using some of the latest innovations in course design and was his first course design in Eastern Europe. The course was even named Best New Golf Course in the World 2009 (International Category) by Golf Inc Magazine.
Set at a height of 200 metres, the course offers player’s excellent sea views out over the cliffs and is a truly spectacular place to play a round of golf. For anyone who enjoys links golf, the course is a must. The design takes into account the natural challenges of the terrain but also shows respect towards the player by giving him or her the best chance to achieve a great round. Once back at the club, players can enjoy a drink on the awe-inspiring sea view terrace.
After a day on the course or a day out enjoying all the area has to offer, you can relax in the onsite Wellness Centre. The team of qualified beauty therapists are able to offer a wide range of different body and facial massages, and beauty treatments. These include luxurious massages with honey, rose oil, wine or chocolate, as well as hot stones treatments. A special “golf massage” is available for those who have been out on the golf course. This treatment is designed to relieve tensions in the areas which are most worked during a game of golf.
Black Sea Rama
BlackSeaRama offers golfers a unique Bulgarian take on a classic links golf course, without the changeability of the Scottish weather.
This magnificent cliff-top course requires players to demonstrate a high level of skill on every hole and shots must be carefully planned by players to give them the best chance of a good round.
Having won Golf Inc. magazine’s award for Best New Golf Course in the World in 2009, the BlackSeaRama course is one which is not to be missed.
Back at the Clubhouse, you can enjoy the acclaimed Bistro Restaurant. The food on offer is a mixture of local Bulgarian dishes and international cuisine. You can also enjoy a drink on the terrace and take the opportunity to appreciate the magnificent sea views when you are not pushing your skills to the limit.
The onsite Golf Academy provides a unique learning environment for those who want to improve their game. The Academy team take a holistic approach to help learners to improve any aspect that they want assistance with.
The 18-hole Thracian Cliffs course sits atop one of the most spectacular areas of coastlines in Europe. Overlooking the Black Sea, the play is as thrilling as the setting.
Although the course is relatively long by modern standards, players also need nerves of steel if they want to make it back to the clubhouse with a good scorecard. The 6th hole, in particular, is a firm favourite for those who like risk and reward play.
Professional Gary Player has helped to create a truly amazing modern golf course which has received commendations from some of Europe’s finest golfers.
Away from the course, you will be able to enjoy the Marina Village and Club House, which is a great place to take refreshments and discuss your round. There is a Pro Shop on site which stocks any essential items that you may need for your game.
The Thracian Cliffs practice area includes a pitching and chipping zone, a putting area and a driving range with 40 spaces.
The Lighthouse golf course has been designed by Ian Woosnam to appeal to those who love classic links courses with a twist.
This outstanding course draws a lot of inspiration from the stunning natural environment in which it is situated. The course design juxtaposes shorter skill holes with much longer par 5-holes, so as to test your whole game. Cleverly placed bunkers and 5 different lakes help to keep players on their toes and continuing to enjoy the challenges that the course has to offer.
The 19th Hole Bar and Grill offers post-round drinks and food for golfers. It is a relaxed environment that serves traditional Bulgarian cuisine and International foods. Free wireless internet access is also available in this area.
The Golf Academy also offers professional tuition in English, Romanian or German language, with practice putting greens, bunkers, chipping and driving range areas.
