The Vale do Lobo is the largest resort of its kind in Portugal, and offers everything that you could want from your golf holiday. The owners have sought to create a residential and holiday community, rather than simply a holiday destination. This is the resort for those who are searching for the golf “lifestyle” whilst they are away.
The Vale do Lobo’s own courses were re-developed by American course architect Rocky Roquemore, and has twice played host to the Portuguese Open. The Royal is well-known for dramatically sweeping along the cliff tops, whereas the Ocean course runs more gently along next to the beach. The courses offer a wonderful combination of links golf and parkland golf which can be enjoyed by almost any golfer, whatever their preferences.
The Vale do Lobo area has 15 restaurants so a huge range of different tastes can be catered for. The types of international cuisines available range from native Portuguese, through to exquisite Asian food, and seafood specialists to grill experts. If you are not looking for a huge meal, then there are plenty of smaller, informal eateries available to choose from. Those who have chosen self-catering can take advantage of a well-stocked supermarket onsite too.
The resort offers excellent access to the two kilometres of golden sands which lie next to the complex. Either enjoy the natural fun that the beach and sea have to offer, or arrange to have a surfside massage from one of the resort’s professional masseurs. The resort also offers adult and children’s pools for guests, so that they can enjoy a refreshing dip without having to deal with unwanted sand.
