Livada Golf Club
On the beautiful eastern side of Slovenia, next to the town of Murska Sobota sits the Livada Golf Course. The Prekmurje region has always been known for its hospitality and friendliness, which is no different at Livada. Minimalist designs and a modest approach to infrastructure truly enhance the natural experience of this 18-hole golf course. Livada is located in the middle of the flattest lands in Slovenia. The golf course therefore has no hills or large forest areas, which are more typical for mountainous terrain. It does, however, have the longest fairway in Slovenia! The course is best enjoyed in spring and summer, July and August tend to get very hot, which not only puts a strain on the guests but also on the grass.
The 6236 meter long par-72 is a fairly easy, playable and fun course. Large greens and numerous water hazards will challenge your game on every hole. Wide fairways and low roughs allow players to use the driver with almost every tee shot. The ambient of the club and course is quiet and tranquil, which gives the guests a chance to relax and enjoy the game of golf to the fullest. Interestingly, when Livada GC first opened its doors it only had 12 holes to play. A few years later the owners also managed to build the remaining six hole and open a full championship course. Over the past Livada has hosted many important national and international tournaments. Players love to return, since the open design of the course allows for low scores even during competition.
Directly in the middle of the golf course is also a driving range, putting green and larger practice area. Livada has their own local PGA staff, which offer a wide range of packages at very competitive prices. The facilities include a small bar and pro-shop, but the true fun really starts once guests start to explore the Terme 3000. Next to the first hole is a 5-star restaurant, which is available for all players. The complex boasts a giant water park, thermal pools, wellness center, sauna center and a few hotels.
Murska Sobota and the Livada Golf Course are about one hour driving from Maribor, which is also the closest airport. Guests are encouraged to explore the local countryside, which often stays undiscovered. Pristine nature and unique cuisine guarantee an amazing Slovenian experience.
