The Ljubljana old town is a precious and beautiful gem, filled with history, music and culture. It is also home to one of the most beautiful and innovative hotels on this side of the Alps – Vander Urbani Resort. Four old town houses make up this urban resort, so don’t expect a “traditional” hotel experience. There is no glass lobby, revolving door or a driveway for cars. Vander Urbani Resort is nestled between the Castle Hill and the River Ljubljanica, it is hard to find a better accommodation spot in Ljubljana. Houses in the old town are protected national heritage, so they can not be overhauled with a modern exterior. Vander Urbani Resort looks like just one of the other houses, but once you step foot inside the modern redesign will be immediately apparent.
Three different room types are available for the guests: Vander, Zen and River. Regardless which one you choose, the amenities and extras will be abundant. Each room has luxury high-end cosmetics, designer furniture and an extremely comfortable bed. If staying in the Zen room, a massage in the room is also available upon request.
In line with the hotel is also its restaurant. Not only can guests indulge in local and international cuisine, Vander also offers fresh delicacies from all around Slovenia. Home-made jams, honey from Brkini, butter from Kobarid, Slovenian cheese from Tolmin and Nanos, home-made yoghurt with fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juices, croissants and home-made bread are daily available. Enormous effort is placed on reviving the traditional Slovenian cuisine all over the country, and Vander is no different. Guests can choose between a rich selection, like polenta with milk, barley groats with prunes or sour milk.
The zen experience of Vander starts in the morning with daily Yoga sessions, which are available upon booking. After a long day of exploring the city, indulge yourself in a Zen massage, which can be totally tailored to your needs. After that, head over to the rooftop bar, order a drink and go for a swim above the most bustling part of Ljubljana.
